IBM in UniVerse deal with Rocket
IBM is selling its U2 database and application development products to Rocket Software, the companies announced last week. The deal includes the UniVerse and UniData suites of multivalue database management systems, as well as associated programming tools, which together are referred to as U2. Rocket says it intends to keep the U2 teams and business model intact. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Dreyer partners with O2Smart Group
Charl Dreyer, who was formerly the head of Korbitec’s Product Management Division, has partnered with the O2Smart Group to manage the international marketing and sales of the XpressDox Docussembly system. “Charl brings a wealth of experience to the Group, and has already made a real difference,” said Chris Pearson, Chairman of the Group.

New web sites for AJS, XpressDox
The web sites for AJS and XpressDox have recently been revamped, and if you’re reading this, then so too has the O2Smart Group website! “The old web sites had been static for too long, and besides, we are using the XpressDox site to market the product overseas, so it needed to be completely redesigned,” said Chris Pearson, Chairman of the Group.

New version of AJS
AJS version 5.7 has been released and includes a number of small enhancements to version 5.6 which was released about six months ago.

Smart Helpdesk launched for AJS clients
In order to serve clients better, the O2Smart has developed a Smart Helpdesk, a web based support logging and tracking system that is available online 24/7.
